Our History of Hotel Cándido in Segovia. Official Website.

More information
The Hotel Cándido, opened in 2006, is part of the legacy of the family that founded the iconic Mesón de Cándido in Segovia.
From the late 19th century, when Micaela Casas and Dionisio Duque opened a small tavern that would become a benchmark for Castilian cuisine, to the present day with the fifth generation at the helm of the Cándido Family Group, the family has made hospitality and gastronomy a hallmark of excellence.
Cándido López, known as ‘El Segoviano’, introduced the tradition of carving suckling pig with a plate and was named Mesonero Mayor de Castilla (Chief Innkeeper of Castile) in 1953, a legacy that lives on in all the group's establishments, including the hotel.
